The trip begins in Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi we will be transferred to the Oberoi Maidens Hotel which is an oasis of calm in the midst of the chaos of the capital city. We then transfer to Darjeeling, a famous hill-station that still retains the flavour and charm of the British Raj. We enjoy breathtaking sunrises and enjoy a ride on the celebrated toy train all under the shadow of the glorious Kanchenjunga. We then travel to Pelling and absorb the sights and sounds of Sikkim. Prayers flags atop ridges, monks in saffron robes, charming village resorts surrounded by rice fields, are captivating images of Sikkim. We visit the mystical lake of Khecheopalri where as per local legend guardian birds do not permit even a single leaf to float on the lake surface. Yuksom our next stop is a small hamlet is truly the gateway to Shangrila. We visit the coronation throne of the 1st King of Sikkim and Norbughang Chorten. The trek into the realm of the Kanchenjunga is simply an exhilarating experience.  We trek through pristine forests with an array of rich and diverse plants and trees and camp alongside glaciated lakes and beneath snow-covered peaks. The clean fresh air, the sparking streams and the waterfall that dot the trail make is a blissful experience.  The figure of Kanchenjunga rising against the blue sky is a magical sight. The trek is fairly moderate and everyone with a spirit of adventure and sound health can do it. No previous trekking experience is necessary. During spring the flowers are in full bloom and the jungle is splashed with a riot of colours. The fresh smell of magnolia, wild primulas, daisies and a viariety of rhodeodendrons and wild orchids simply transforms it into a paradise. Martam Village our next stop on the trip is a sleepy hamlet that allows us to experience the rich and diverse culture of the local people up close and personal. We visit the major sites in Gangtok and Kalimpong. We visit the major sites of these sleepy towns and enjoy the historical and cultural heritage of these towns.
