We trek right into the heart of the Manaslu and discover authentic Nepal. We trek through lush paddy fields and reach the base camp of one of the giants of the planet Manaslu that stands tall at 8163 meters. The Manaslu region offers contrasting landscapes rich in flora and fauna on off the beaten trails through wild forests with the Himlayan giants keeping us constant company. We cross the suspension bridge over the Buri Gandaki river and trek to the high glacial valleys that provide breathtaking views of Manaslu (8163m), Himalchuli (7893m) and West Peak (7540m). Past the village of Lihi we enter into a wild unfrequented area inhabited by people of Tibetan descent. We then ascend to the Manaslu Base Camp (4 800m) and traverse the Larkya La Pass at 5 160m which is the highlight of our trip. The trek offers us glimpses of legendary peaks, forgotten villages and ancient monasteries and provides a different experience of the Himalayas!
